Srinagar, Sept 02: Srinagar Police on Friday said to have arrested absconding accused of raping minor girl here.

They said that the accused identified as Aijaz Ahmad sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi sheikh resident of Zewan, Khunmoh was arrested for raping a minor girl of Maloora (name withheld), four days ago.
He was absconding after the crime. A case under FIR No 24/2022 under relevant sections of IPC & POSCO act was already registered, they said.

Srinagar Police in a tweet said, “One accused namely Aijaz Ahmad sheikh S/o Ghulam Nabi sheikh R/o Zewan, Khunmoh arrested for raping a minor girl of Maloora (name withheld), 4 days ago.He was absconding after the crime.A case under FIR No 24/2022 under relevant sections of IPC & POSCO act was already registered.”
