05 thieves arrested in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar, Aug 30: Srinagar Police on tuesday said to have arrested five thieves, stolen items recovered.

They said that four thieves were arrested for stealing from many places including a home in Sir Syed abad, near Iqbalabad, Batmaloo after CCTV clip had went viral on social media about that theft.

Another notorious thief was arrested from Ghantaghar, Lal chowk. Ten stolen mobiles were recovered from him. Case under FIR No 72/2022 under section 379 of IPC registered in Kothibagh PS and investigation started, they said.

Srinagar Police tweeted,”4 thieves arrested for stealing from many places including a home in Sir Syedabad,near Iqbalabad, Batmaloo. One CCTV clip had went viral 2 days about that theft. Accused identified as Mohd Imran R/o Noorbagh, Saidullah Mirza R/o Ghaziabad, Mohd Aziz R/o Bengal and Mohd Kabir R/o Bengal.

“Another notorious thief namely Zubair Khan R/o Payarpora, Kupwara arrested from Ghantaghar, Lal chowk. Ten (10) stolen mobiles recovered from him. Case under FIR No 72/2022 under section 379 of IPC registered in Kothibagh PS and investigation started,” tweeted Srinagar Police.
