Husband-wife duo drug peddlers arrested in Budgam

Budgam, Aug 14: Budgam Police on Sunday arrested Husband-wife duo drug peddlers in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

In a statement issued here, a Police Spokesman said that to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested husband- wife drug peddlers and recovered Contraband substance from their possession.

He said that Police Station Budgam recieved an information that one couple living in a rented accommodation near Railway Station Budgam & are actively involved in sale of contraband substance.

During search of the said place , police party recovered 4 Grams of Heroin like substance,01 digital balance and some insulin syringes, he said.

The duo has been arrested and identified as Shah Faisal son of Gulzar Ahmed Shah and Nowsheen Faisal wife of Shah Faisal, residents of Mohanpora Ompora Budgam.

Case FIR number 274/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Budgam & investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, the Spokesman added.
