Militants involved in killing of Rahul Bhat, Amreen Bhat trapped: ADGP

Budgam, Aug 10: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces at Waterhal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district this morning.

An official told news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

Meanwhile ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that three LeT militants including Lateef Rather who was involved in killing of Rahul Pandit and Amreen Bhat are trapped in ongoing encounter.

“03 militants of militant outfit LeT(TRF) including Lateef Rather trapped in ongoing #encounter. Militant Lateef is involved in several #civilian #killings including Rahul Bhat & Amreen Bhat” Kashmir police zone tweeted while quoting ADGP Kashmir.
