Anantnag, July 06:Semi-decomposed body of a newborn baby was found abandoned in a river at Bidhard Kokernag of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district this afternoon.

Local sources told GNS that a baby was found by passersby inside Daksum river, upon which they informed police. A police team later on arrived at the site and took the body into its possession for burial.
The incident has in the meantime caused outrage among the people and have demanded stern action against anyone ‘who is in any way involved in the unfortunate incident’.
