President of the fraternity, Mohammad Amir said, “This was a conspiracy being hatched by the Delhi based JAY CEE PUBLICATIONS against the Muslim community which got exposed well before the time.”

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Amir on Monday in a Press Conference said that the act of publishing objectionable content against our Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is totally unacceptable.

The fraternity demanded the cancellation of licenses and immediate action against the publisher.

“Such acts have become so frequent but this has happened for the first time in Kashmir valley and we won’t stay silent on this. In this textbook, the publisher has not honored our Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) even once, they have directly mentioned Mohammad only,” he said.

“Ironically, the culprits are openly doing whatever they wish to and no action is being taken against them for hurting the sentiments of the people especially the Muslim community,” Amir said.

The fraternity appealed to the people of Kashmir to boycott the books published by Delhi based JAY CEE PUBLICATIONS especially the History and Civics of edition-2020 for the class 7th.

“We appeal to the distributors and the booksellers to return the books of the publisher. We also request the Private School Associations and parents to blacklist the books being published by JAY CEE PUBLICATIONS,” Amir said.

The Islamic fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir also urged the Muslims of India to boycott all the books being published by the JAY CEE PUBLICATIONS.

The Islamic fraternity appealed to the preachers to speak on the issue during the congregational prayers in the upcoming Friday.

In the meantime, the fraternity welcomed the statement of Srinagar district administration over the issue.
