(Asian News Hub) – One in five women who took part in a survey in United Kingdom said their menstrual cycles changed after they received a COVID-19 vaccine, researchers have revealed.
The study suggested women who were on the contraceptive pill were almost 50% less likely to notice any changes to their period. The odds increased by 49% for women who smoked and by up to 70% for those who had contacted COVID-19 or said they were suffering from long COVID.

The researchers—from Oxford, Edinburgh and Bristol universities—said clinicians should consider counseling women about possible COVID-19 vaccine side-effects and advising them to seek medical advice if the symptoms were severe, lasted more than one cycle or involved bleeding between periods or after sex.
The research was based on self-reported evidence from almost 5,000 women who responded to a Facebook survey.
