Tawseef Ahmed, a resident of Lethpora Pampore, told KNO that the internet services remain suspended in the area from 7 am to 11 am and then from 3 pm till 10 pm on a regular basis for the past one week or so.

“After power cuts, authorities have now resorted to internet cuts in the downtown area. It is a sheer injustice to us. We are being punished for no fault,” Ishfaq Majeed from Nowhatta said.

“Most of the students and other people were coming to my shop to submit forms in the evening time but due to the internet blockades, they are choosing to go to other areas now,” he said.

“We request higher ups to look into the matter and before blockade keep the business community and students in mind as internet blockades are adding to our miseries,” locals said.

Meanwhile, police had said that shutting down the internet of some towers is purely related to militancy related incidents. Apart from the internet snapping, call drops on Jio and airtel are being frequently reported from majority of Kashmir parts leaving the consumers of these telecom services irked.
