Srinagar, Mar 27: Authorities have conveyed to the Auqaf that the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar will remain closed for prayers on the revered night of Laila-tul-Qadr, Mirwaiz informed on X.

Muslims, who traditionally gather at the mosque on this night for supplication and seeking forgiveness.

Ahead of Eid, Mutton Prices Soar to ₹750 per Kg

Condemning the move, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed deep grief, calling it extremely regrettable and insensitive. He stated that barring thousands of Muslims from worship on this spiritually significant night has caused immense dismay.

“Preventing people from offering prayers at Jama Masjid on this holy night is deeply painful,” Mirwaiz said in a post on X.
