Srinagar, Feb 11: The police on Tuesday arrested eight individuals for their involvement in creating a fake replica of the holy Kaaba for a person identified as Razaq Bab, news agency KNS reported.
They said that the arrests were made following an investigation into the unauthorized construction of the replica.
A senior police officer confirmed the development to KNS, stating that all those involved in the act, including the carpenter who built the structure, had been taken into custody.

“Eight people have been arrested. They include those who helped in constructing the replica as well as those who collected funds for it,” the officer said.
The incident has sparked public outrage, prompting the police to take swift action. Officials have assured a thorough investigation into the matter.
The police have urged the public to refrain from actions that could lead to misinformation or hurt religious sentiments.
