Pulwama, Jan 20: Concerns have been raised by residents of Gousia Colony in the Pampore area regarding an unfinished drainage project built by the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department.
According to locals the drain was constructed without a suitable exit which frequently floods the road, submerging the surrounding area when it rains. The drain’s manholes are exposed to potential mishaps since it lacks iron covers, which increases the risk.
The narrow road further amplifies the risk, especially for pedestrians and vehicles navigating the area, locals said.

Locals have demanded immediate action to cover the open manholes with iron plates and provide a proper outlet for waste disposal to prevent road inundation and accidents.
