New Delhi, Jan 26: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Mohammad Umar Farooq, met with Maulana Mehmood Madni, the President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, in New Delhi today. He was accompanied by Maulana Rehmatullah Qasimi of Darul Uloom Raheemiya.
During the meeting, the leaders deliberated on concerns regarding the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill, particularly its potential implications on the autonomy and management of Waqf properties. Both emphasized the need to protect the rights and interests of Waqf institutions and the Muslim community.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also briefed Maulana Madni about the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mirwaiz is scheduled to meet other prominent religious and political leaders in the coming days to discuss the Muslim community’s concerns regarding the proposed bill and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
