Pulwama, Jan 09: In a tragic incident, a man drowned to death while extracting sand from river jhelum in Hajibal, Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district this morning, reports said.
Reports said Raqib Ahmad, son of Mohammad Ismail Dar and a resident of Hajibal, drowned in the Jhelum River while extracting sand. Despite rescue efforts, he could not be saved and tragically lost his life.
They said his body has been recovered from the Jhelum River and shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
