Srinagar, Jan 23: A dead body was discovered inside a 1,000-litre water tank at a residential house in the Khrew area of Pampore town on Thursday.
Sources revealed that the body was recovered from a water tank at the residence of Gh Nabi Shah, son of Gh Mohi Uddin, in New Colony, Khrew, Pampore.
The deceased has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Wani, son of Wali Mohammad, a 55-year-old resident of Khrew.
According to police sources, Wani had been mentally unsound for the past 20 years. The body was recovered in the presence of a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Khrew.

The deceased’s remains have been sent for medico-legal formalities, and a detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. (KDC)
