Srinagar, Jan 10: A youth from Anantnag was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Amdakadal Lal Bazar area of Srinagar this morning.
The deceased, identified as Showkat Ahmed Naik, son of Ghulam Ahmad Naik, a resident of Kokernag Anantnag, was residing in a rented accommodation at Amdakadal Lal Bazar with his uncle. He was discovered lying in a pool of blood, raising concerns about foul play.
Srinagar police recovered the body and shifted it to SMHS Hospital for medico-legal formalities. After the completion of the procedures, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 01/2025 at Lal Bazar Police Station, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
