Shopian, Dec 28: The District Development Commissioner of Shopian has ordered the suspension of three Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) for absconding during a critical period when the administration was engaged in snow clearance and relief operations in the district.
The suspended officials include Mohammad Noordin, AEE, SD Imamsahib, R&B Division Zainpora, Zaffar Ahmed, AEE, SD Ramnagri, R&B Division Shopian, and Mohammad Saleem, AEE, SD Hirpora, R&B Division Shopian.
An inquiry revealed that the absentees were located outside their jurisdictions, with Mohammad Noordin found in Chadoora, Zaffar Ahmed in Janglatmandi, Anantnag, and Mohammad Saleem in Srinagar.
The administration deemed their actions as a dereliction of duty during a period when the district’s entire machinery was mobilized for snow clearance and citizen relief efforts. Pending an inquiry into their conduct, the AEEs have been suspended and attached to the 24×7 Control Room in Shopian. They have been instructed to report immediately, with no salary to be drawn until the inquiry concludes.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Shopian has been tasked with conducting the inquiry, with a report due by January 1, 2025.
Relevant authorities, including the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and the SSP Shopian, have been notified to ensure compliance and attendance of the suspended officials.
