Srinagar, Dec 24: Panic gripped the Nawab Bazar area of Srinagar this evening after six gas cylinders exploded inside a U-shaped structure housing a gas agency and an automobile workshop, an official told Asian News Hub.
He said, Fire and emergency services acted swiftly, successfully containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. “The timely evacuation of remaining gas cylinders averted a potential catastrophe,” he said.

He said that the explosions caused significant property damage.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident. Locals praised the prompt response of the fire department, which ensured the safety of the neighborhood.
