Anantnag, Nov 25: As part of step against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag have arrested a woman drug peddler, police said.
In a media statement, a police spokesperson said, the accused, identified as Gulshana, wife of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie from Takiya Maksood Shah, Bijbehara, was apprehended during a checkpoint operation conducted by the police in the area.
He said approximately 8 kilograms of cannabis powder were recovered from her possession, marking a major success in the ongoing fight against narcotics in the region. A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 226/2024, U/S 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Bijbehara.
