Srinagar, Nov 15: In the wake of a tragic accident in Tengpora, where a Thar vehicle driven by a minor led to the loss of two young lives, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari has issued a strong message emphasizing the need for responsible parenting and stricter enforcement of road safety laws.
The RTO extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and stressed the importance of preventing minors from operating vehicles. The agency has declared a commitment to enforce licensing laws more rigorously, stating that parents or guardians who permit minors to drive will face full accountability through investigating agencies.
“This incident not only underscores a serious lapse in parenting but also points to a gap in educational systems in fostering responsibility and respect for laws among young people,” the RTO said in its statement.

In response, the RTO has called upon parents to take preventive measures, ensuring minors do not access vehicles, and vowed to increase enforcement to prevent such tragedies.
