Kulgam, Nov 19: As part of its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, the Kulgam Police have taken decisive action by attaching a double-storied residential house, along with 15 marlas of land beneath it, in Rehpora Khudwani. The property, valued at over ₹1 crore, belongs to Mohd Ashraf Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, a notorious drug peddler from the area, police said in media statement.
They said the attachment was carried out under Section 68-F(2) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigations revealed that the property was acquired through proceeds from illicit drug trafficking.
Mohd Ashraf Bhat is currently lodged at Central Jail Kupwara and is involved in FIR No. 43/2023 registered at Police Station Qazigund.
