Srinagar, May 26: A rescue operation has been launched after a minor girl drowned in a canal in Singhpora Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district this afternoon.
Quoting an official news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that a minor girl identified as Shabnam Jan daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Qureshi, a resident of Singhpora drowned in canal while taking a bath.
They said soon after the incident, a rescue operation has been started, while efforts are on to retrieve the body.

Meanwhile police have taken cognizance of the incident.
