Srinagar, May 06: A Darul-uloom building and two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in south Kashmir’s Anantnag town on Sunday evening.
An F&ES official told Asian News Hub that one Darul-uloom building, namely Idarah Tabqiqat Islamia, and two residential houses, all three-storeyed with pucca construction and GCI sheet roofing, were involved in the fire. The cause of the fire is under police investigation.
He said the roofing, ceilings of all structures, doors, windows, bedding, computers, and the library on the second floor of Darul-uloom, as well as the attic portions of both houses, were severely damaged in the fire.

Additionally, the furnishings, household goods, and paint of both houses were slightly damaged due to water. The incident occurred 6 kilometers away from the F&ES headquarters in Anantnag, he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
