Srinagar, April 09: Body of man hailing from Budgam who had allegedly committed suicide by jumping in river Jhelum from footbridge in Rajbagh area of Srinagar last evening, was retrieved this afternoon.
An official told Asian News Hub that a 23-year-old man hailing from Budgam had jumped into river jhelum last evening.
He said, subsequently a rescue operation was launched by a team of SDRF and River Police Srinagar to retrieve his body, and after hectic efforts his body was retrieved from jhelum this afternoon in Rajbagh area.

Body was shifted to SMHS hospital for medicolegal formalities and will be handed over to family for last rites, he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
