Srinagar, March 27: A residential house, four shops and a single-storey cowshed were gutted in a fire incident that erupted in Magam Sonbrari area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district in wee hours on Wednesday.
An F&ES official told Asian News Hub that one double-storey residential house with four shops on the ground floor, a single-storey cowshed, all structures built with permanent materials and roofed with GCI sheets, were engulfed in a fire caused by a leak in an LPG cylinder.
He said, the roofing, ceiling of all structures, as well as the first floor, along with fixed and loose furniture, furnishings, bedding, and other household goods on the first floor, were severely damaged by the fire.
Additionally, the contents of the shops, including animal husbandry medicines, electronic items, and grocery items, were partially damaged, he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
