Srinagar, Feb 5: The body of man who drowned in river Jhelum along with erickshaw retrieved from river Jhelum in Lasjan area of Srinagar outskirts this afternoon.
Reports reaching ANH said that a man identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, resident of SD Colony Batamaloo, drowned in river Jhelum at Lasjan on Friday evening.
They said subsequently a rescue operation was launched by a team of SDRF, Indian Navy, along with the help of locals and fished out the body after three days.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident, and the body has been shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
It’s worth noting that the deceased was a passenger in the auto-rickshaw, while the driver was rescued during the incident.
