The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) in Shopian on Friday took strict action against a vehicle for endangering passengers’ lives due to reckless overloading, blacklisting it for blatant violations of the MV-Act/Rules and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
In a statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH) an official said that on 24 November ARTO Shopian received reports of a vehicle plying on the roads with an excessive number of passengers. Shockingly, these passengers were not only exceeding the vehicle’s capacity but were also hanging outside the vehicle, posing a serious threat to their lives and violating multiple safety regulations.
