On Saturday night, Raju Bhaurao Dhengre, a Nagpur, Maharashtra resident, was fatally strangled and beaten to death by two of his employees.
Chhotu and Adi, identified as the assailants, killed the 48-year-old owner of a Dhaba in Pachgaon on the Nagpur-Umred road. The motive behind the murder was the victim’s refusal to meet their demands, which included requests for leaves and Diwali bonuses.
According to reports, Chhotu and Adi hail from Mandla in Madhya Pradesh and wanted to go home for Diwali. They had also sought a Diwali bonus from their employer, which was also not met.
Police said that Dhengre had hired Chhotu and Adi through an agent just around a month ago.
On Saturday night, while they were having dinner at the Dhaba, an argument broke out between Dhengre and the two employees over money. He later went to sleep, and as Dhengre was lying on the bed, the two men strangulated him and also attacked him with a wooden log.

“Two of these employees wanted to go for Diwali vacations to their native Madhya Pradesh. There was some disagreement and argument over the salary and bonus of the accused, who later killed Dhengre when he was asleep,” the Police said.
The assailants then fled the scene on Dhengre’s car, but they abandoned the vehicle after it crashed near a bridge on Naag River in Vhirgaon.
According to the police, the two men are still at large, and a manhunt is on for them.
