DC Sgr inspects progress of works of SDH Hazratbal, additional block of JLNM Hospital, Multi-Level Car Parking Hazratbal

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Saturday undertook a visit of different City areas to oversee the progress of works being carried out on several major developmental projects including ongoing construction works on 50 bedded Sub District Hospital at Hazratbal, Multi-Level Car Parking Hazratbal, Additional Block of JLNM Hospital Rainawari and other development works in the District.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Block Medical Officer, Hazratbal, Executive Engineers of R&B, Officers of JKPCC, JK Housing Board and other concerned.

While inspecting the progress of works on the  Project of 50 bedded Sub District Hospital at Hazratbal, the Deputy Commissioner was apprised that work under first phase on Plinth/Basement is going on in full swing being carried at a cost of Rs 14.73 Crore.  

On the occasion, the DC asked the concerned executing agency to accelerate the pace of the works on the prestigious project to ensure its time bound completion so that large population in and around Hazratbal areas are benefitted.

Similarly, the DC inspected the construction works on G+3Multi-Level Car Parking near Hazratbal Shrine being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 11.32 Crore.

 On the occasion, the DC was informed that over 90 percent construction works have been completed under the project for Multi-Level parking which can accommodate 164 vehicles  in 4 floors.

 Interacting with the Officers of the concerned executing agency, the DC stressed them to expedite the works on remaining part of the project at the earliest to ensure the facility is used for the public benefit.

Later, the DC also visited JLNM Hospital Rainawari and took stock of the under construction  works on an additional Block of the Hospital being carried out at a cost of Rs 27.66 crore by JK housing Board.

On the occasion, the Medical Superintendent and Deputy Medical Superintendent apprised the DC about the present status of the construction works.

At the site, the DC asked the concerned to speed up the pace of the works and ensure timely completion of the project. The DC also asked the Hospital Administration to ensure better patient care in the Hospital.

Unidentified girl jumps into Jhelum in Sopore

An unidentified girl allegedly jumps into river Jhelum in Sopore area of district Baramulla on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports said that an unidentified girl jumped into river Jhelum from a bridge near Jamia Masjid Sopore this afternoon.

They said that the rescue operation has been launched to retrieve the body of the girl.

Srinagar among several places record coldest night of season

The minimum temperature has plummeted further in Kashmir while Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 2.0 degree Celsius.

Several places across Kashmir including Srinagar, Qazigund, Ganderbal, Pahalgam, Kupwara, Shopian, Bandipora and Baramulla recorded coldest night of season.

In Qazigund, the mercury settled at minus 2.0 degree Celsius while in Gulmarg, a minimum temperature of minus 2.2 degree Celsius was recorded.

Pahalgam, a famous tourist place, recorded a low of minus 5.1 degree Celsius while Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.7 degree Celsius.

ADGP law & order chairs joint security review meeting at PCR Kashmir

In order to strengthen and synergise the security grid of District Srinagar, ADGP Law and order Vijay Kumar chaired a joint meeting of Police and CRPF in Police Control Room Srinagar.

A police spokesman in a statement issued to Asian News Hub said, IG CRPF Ajay Kumar Yadav, IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi, DDIB, DIG CKR, DIG CRPF North & DIG CRPF South, SSP Srinagar, SSP PCR Kashmir, all the Nodal COs of CRPF, SP Cargo Srinagar, all Zonal SPs and SDPOs of Srinagar participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, a detailed security plan of Srinagar district was discussed in threadbare where in CRPF and Police were acquainted with their new roles besides suggestions were also taken from the field officers to have a fair idea of the shortcomings, avoid confusion at the cutting edge in order to make it a perfect and comprehensive CT grid.

Besides, ADGP L&O, IG CRPF and IGP Kashmir also contributed their valid suggestions. ADGP stressed upon all the officers that idea of a perfect security grid is only possible if the things discussed are implemented on ground in letter and spirit.

ADGP has focused upon strengthening function of joint police control room and better communication mechanism between field officers of CRPF and JKP in city. Area domination of water bodies was discussed and included in area domination plan in today’s meeting.

He has also instructed SSP Srinagar to conduct joint mock drill to handle post terror incident situations in city. ADGP Kashmir reinforced the commitment to dealing strictly with individuals disrupting the peace and emphasized the need for stringent actions under the law.

ADGP Kumar emphasized the necessity to strengthen the CI grid and enhance the basic functioning of police stations through effective supervision. The ADGP’s guidance and directives aim to fortify security measures and maintain a secure and peaceful environment in the district.
