Local villagers spotted the couple on top of the tower and promptly called the Pendra police station. Also informed about the occurrence were the couple’s families. By the time the cops came, a sizable group of villagers had gathered around the tower.

Police officials negotiated with the couple for a long time, trying to convince them to climb down. After hours of struggle, the police finally succeeded. One of the bystanders in the crowd shot a video of the whole incident and posted it on social media.

Sources said the minor girl had gotten into a heated argument with her boyfriend over a phone call, hours before she climbed the tower. To persuade her to come down, her boyfriend also followed her. Both the girl and her partner were unharmed and brought down successfully, sources added.

Though the officials did not register any formal case in the incident, they have sternly advised the young couple against engaging in such risky behavior in the future.
