The Additional Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Shopian on Tuesday issued a notice to a local commuter, asking him to show cause within ten days as to why his driving licenese should not be suspended.

As per Asian News Hub (ANH), the notice has been served to Murtaza Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid of Awend, Shopian.
“You have been issued a driving license under No. JK-2220190000126 dated 27-03-2019 for class of vehicle MCWG, LMV only issued by the licensing Authority ARTO Shopian,” the notice reads.
During the road checking on 28-08-2023 at about 12:00 am/pm, you were plying vehicle bearing registration number HR26BG-1 148, which was on the way to Gole Market, Jamia Masjid Road Shopian, intercepted by the checking team of this office and the said vehicle was found indulged in contravention to Road Safety Norms and Dangerous driving under section 184 of MVA 1988, which is a serious violation of M.V.Act, by way of putting your. life and lives of other road users danger.
The competent Authority under Section (19) of CMVA 1988 read with rule 21 of CMVR 1989, Sub Section 6 of CMVR, Sub Section 10 of CMVR, Sub Section 18 CMVR has received recommendations for the suspension/ cancellation of driving license from the Motor Vehicle Inspector, the notice reads.
“In view of this, you are directed to show cause within a period of ten days from date of issuance of this notice as to why the driving license issued to you should not be suspended/cancelled for a period of (3) three month in the first instance failing which it shall be presumed that you have nothing to say in your defence and action as warranted under rules shall be taken,” the order reads further.
