Quoting locals news agency—KNO reported that the school has been functioning from a dilapidated building since the last several years and students as well as teachers have been suffering due to foul smell coming from the cowshed.
The second storey has just two rooms where students of six classes are cramped there by impacting their education, they said.
“Most of the people living in the area belong to a financially weaker section of the society and can’t afford to send their wards to private institutions,” they added
Students said that there is no facility such as power and water.
Locals said that a building was sanctioned for the school before but the building has been left incomplete for years and no attention is being given towards it.
They said that they have brought the issue to the notice of concerned authorities several times but without fake assurances, they haven’t got anything.
They requested LG Manoj Sinha and DC Anantnag to look into the matter at an earliest so that students won’t suffer any more.
Chief Education Officer Anantnag Kamal Kishore assured KNO that he will look into the matter and appropriate steps will be taken in this regard.
