Mehbooba Mufti, Altaf Bukhari Among Others Express Grief, Extend Condolences With Bereaved Family
Renowned Islamic scholar Baji Muzzaffar Hussain, known in social circles as Baji Sahab, of Kalakote Rajouri, passed away of protracted illness on Sunday evening. He was 60.
A close relative of Baji Muzzaffar Hussain said that ‘Baji Sahab’ died of prolonged illness at his home in Kalakote Rajouri. “He was not keeping well for over a considerable period of time now and eventually left for heavenly abode this (Sunday) evening”, the relative told GNS.
The funeral prayer to the departed soul is scheduled to be held at his ancestral village in Kalakote Rajouri after noon (Zuhr) prayers on Monday.
Baji Hussain known for his religious acumen and oratory skills had also affiliation with politics for quite a while and was seen with Peoples Democratic Party Founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and incumbent PDP Chairperson Mehbooba Mufti on several occasions.
Several political leaders including Peoples Democratic Party Chairperson Mehooba Mufti, Apni Party Patron Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari were among others expressing their grief and sorrow over the demise of Baji Hussain and extended their commiserations with the bereaved family.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, PDP Chairperson Mehooba Mufti wrote; “Deeply saddened to hear about the sad & sudden demise of Baji Sayed Muzaffar Shah Sahab of kalakote. He was a great spiritual leader and I feel fortunate to have known him. Condolences to his family & his well wishers. May God give him the highest place in jannat (sic.).”
In his message, Apni Party Patron Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari wrote on Twitter; Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Baji Muzaffer Hussain of Broi – Kalakote. I extend my heartfelt commiserations to the bereaved family and to his loved ones especially to his close relative and our JKAP’s District President Rajouri Syed Manzoor Bukhari sahab and to his nephew and our district president bandipora Syed Shafat Qazmi sahab ,during these tough times. Legacy of Shah Sahab will forever be remembered and cherished. May his soul find eternal peace and may the bereaved family find strength in this hour of grief (sic.).”
Many others people have also expressed their grief over the demise of Baji Hussain and unequivocally termed it a great loss to J&K and especially to Rajouri district. GNS
