Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said to have solved the ATM theft case in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district by arresting a gang of notorious thieves from Bangladesh.

In a statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH), a police spokesman said on 08 April 2023 unknown burglars stole an ATM machine installed near to Government Degree College Pulwama, In this regard case FIR No. 78/2023 US 380, 457 IPC was registered at Police station Pulwama.
Taking into account the gravity of crime, a SIT, headed by Additional SP Pulwama, was constituted to ensure the expeditious investigation of the case. The whole investigation is being closely monitored and supervised by SSP Pulwama, he said.
The spokesman said, during the course of investigation, Police team had analysed digital data evidences besides meticulous investigation of circumstantial evidences- persistent and focused examination of suspects resulted in identifying a group of international thieves from Bangladesh who had committed such type of crime in the past also.
Police has also used service of a private detective to unearth the gang. Due to collective effort by team and particularly distinguished efforts put by Azim SHO Pulwama the sensational burglary racket get identified and apprehended.
The role of other supporting Police members under supervision of Adl SP and DySP Hqrs Pulwama also remained remarkabe.

Three accused including kingpin arrested in the case are Suman Mal son of Jainal resident of Rajapur Police station Raainda Bangladesh, Farooq Ahmad Ali son of Ahmad Ali resident of Razwair Police station Rainda , Bangladesh and Mohd Ibrahim son of Mohd Muslim resident of Bangla Bazar Police station Sharun khola Bangladesh, he said.
The suspects during strenuous questioning, confessed the commission of crime, subsequent to their disclosure, the stolen ATM machine was recovered from an orchard dumped in a pit at Dogam Kakapora.
He said, gang of burglars has revealed that they had committed such ATM theft at other places too over the past years. This gang of thieves from Bangladesh started operating in South Kashmir from the beginning of this year and also disclosed alike ATM theft in Pampore.
The mystery around ATM theft case by a gang of international thieves has been worked out professionally by Pulwama Police.
The investigation is still continue to arrest other accomplices, the spokesman added.
