Dr Darakhshan orders takeover of Waqf notified shops at Pulwama

38 Shops brought under administrative control on existing rentals.

In response to the representation of a group of shopkeepers running Waqf notified shops in the Chudi Market Pulwama, Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi has ordered immediate takeover of the Shops on existing rent charges.

In an order issued by the Central Waqf Office, 38 number of Shops under Waqf ID: JK-039559 have been brought under direct administrative control of Waqf on present rent structure till further orders. Administrator Kakapora/Newa Unit has been directed to collect rent from the Shopkeepers henceforth & Estates Wing of the Board has been directed to make necessary entries in the Inventory of directly administered Waqf properties.

Pertinently, a large number of Waqf Notified Properties have been ignored over the years & left outside the administrative control of Waqf which has caused huge revenue losses to the Waqf Board.

10 held for trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere outside Jama Masjid after Friday prayers: Police

Srinagar police on Saturday said that they have arrested ten persons for trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere outside Jama Masjid in Nowhatta after Friday prayers.

They said that they will be booked under relevant sections of law.

Srinagar police on X informed, “10 Hooligans arrested for trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere outside Jamia Masjid Yesterday after friday prayers. They shall be booked under relevant section of law. Public is requested not to indulge in such acts failing which law will take its own course.”

Mason falls from rooftop of house in Bijbehera, dies

A mason died after he fell down from a rooftop of a house in Zirpora area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

An official told that Nazir Ahmad Ganai son of Abdul Salam Ganai of Zirpora was doing some work on the roof of the house when he slipped and fell down.

Biker killed in Anantnag road accident

A biker has died in a road mishap in Ranipora area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday morning.

An official told that a motorcyclist, identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Kuchay, lost control of his bike and skidded off the road, resulting in his death.
