Two held for snatching bag of tourist in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar police on Wednesday evening said to have arrested two accused involved in snatching bag of a tourist outside Burnhall school in Srinagar.

They said that accused are dug addicts and have been identified as Tuha Naseer Shalla of Khayam Chowk and Owais wani of Kalipora Khanyar.

Stolen items and Rs 16000 cash has been recovered from their possession and bike has been also seized.

A case has been registered in this regard in RM Bagh police station, they said.

In a tweet Srinagar police said, “2 accused arrested for snatching a bag of tourist having items & ₹16000 outside Burnhall school. They are 1) Tuha Naseer Shalla of Khayam Chowk & 2) Owais wani of Kalipora Khanyar. Both are drug addicts. Stolen items recovered, bike seized. FIR already registered in RM Bagh PS.”
