Chairperson Waqf Board, Dr Darakshan Andrabi on Wednesday said Ulemas are crown of the society, but J&K should have its own Ruet-e-hilal committee.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the function at Pulwama, she said that the religious clerics held a meeting yesterday. “However, the meeting has not put an end to the chaos as they have stated that the people will have to fast for one day after Eid, which is between them and the people now,” she said, as per Asian News Hub (ANH).
She also said that the Ulemas have not met the government, but she believes that J&K should have its own Ruet-e-hilal committee.
The Waqf Chairperson further stated that the Ulemas are crown of the society and the people have been following their decisions in spirit.
