SRTC buses to ply on Chadoora-Soura route till 09 PM and Parimpora-Harwan route till 10 PM

A day after the government decided to start Night bus service in Srinagar, the SRTC buses are all set to remain available at two major routes of Srinagar till 10 PM from today, officials said on Friday.

Talking to Asian News Hub (ANH), an official from Regional Transport Office (RTO), Kashmir, said that the SRTC buses will remain available for the general public till 10 PM from 02 PM today.

The decision was taken yesterday in a meeting chaired Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir V K Bidhuri.

After the meeting, RTO Kashmir had written to SRTC General Manager here with regard to making available the buses for general public during night hours.

“May kindly refer to the meeting proceedings convened by Divisional Commissioner
Kashmir on 23-03-2023 on the subject. As per our discussions in meeting and in view of the provisions under Rule 83 of Jammu & Kashmir Motor Vehicle Rules, you are, hereby, requested to ply operational bus fleet of fourteen buses (14) in Srinagar city,” the letter reads.

From 8 AM to 9 PM, 10 buses in two shifts will ply from Chadoora to Soura via- Wathoora -Kralpora – Mouchwa – Bagi Mehtab-Chanapora – Natipora – Rambagh – Solina-Jahangir Chowk- Batamaloo-Qamarwari-Cement Bridge – Ali Jan Road – Soura.

From 5PM to 10 PM, 4 buses at time interval of 15 minutes will ply from Parimpora to Harwan via – Batmaloo-Jahangir Chowk – Lal Chowk-Dalgate – Brien – Syed Rehman Sahib Nishat Bagh – Gupt Ganga SKUAST – Shalimar Bagh – Pazwalpora
Shalimar – Arabal – Chandpora Harwan and Back via same route, the letter added.

“You are also advised to prominently exhibit Route plate No. 4 and 1 respectively on the busses plying on these routes. This is in view of the fact that this ofice is in the process of route planning the entire City Bus Service,” it reads.
