The residents told news agency—KNO that the road has been in a dilapidated condition for many years and that even after raising the issue with the concerned authorities; no action has been taken so far.

“All roads in the locality have been macadamised but our lane has been left unattended for the last several years due to unknown reasons,” they said.

Shakeel Ahmad, a resident, said that due to the dilapidated condition of the road, the people of the area are suffering immensely, especially during inclement weather.

“We have even written to officials of city roads division SMC Srinagar but no action has been taken,” he said.

Mudasir Ahmad, another local, said that the road is lying in a “worst condition”. “Even in far-flung areas, there are much better roads, but in city, we are facing such problems,” he said.

The locals said they have several times brought the issue to the notice of the concerned department but nothing has been done yet. They requested the administration to look into the matter at the earliest.

Meanwhile, an official told KNO that the road will be macadamised this year.
