At least seven cattle were charred to death and a residential house was damaged in separate fire incidents across the Kupwara district, while two residential houses were gutted in the Uri area of Baramulla.

The incidents across north Kashmir have damaged properties worth lakhs of rupees. However, no loss of human life or injury was reported.
In Kupwara’s Mawer, a fire broke out in a cow shed belonging to Abdul Ahad Malla, at Hak’daji Shiekh Pora in Mawar, Qalamabad during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. In the incident, seven cattle including 2 cows and 5 goats were charred to death. The shed has been completely gutted.
In another incident at Haihama in the district, a residential house belonging to Wali Mohammad Dar, son of Noor Mohammad Dar, was damaged and the fire was contained by the locals as Fire and Emergency Department didn’t reach the site on time, locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
In Baramulla’s Uri, two residential houses in the Mohura area, belonging to Ghulam Hassan Khan and Jahangir Ahmad Khan, were damaged after a branch of a Chinar tree fell on them. However, as per the officials, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
