Srinagar, Aug 31: Two militants affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants outfit were killed and a civilian was injured in an encounter in Bomai area of Sopore on Wednesday evening.

Reports reaching The Asian News Hub (ANH) said that joint team of security forces launched a Cordon-and-Search operation in Bomai area of Sopore after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon them triggering an encounter.
In the ensuing encounter two militants affiliated with JeM were killed and a civilian identified as Ali Mohammad Ganie was injured, who has been shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for treatment, where his condition is said to be stable, reports added.

ADGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar said that the killed JeM militants were categorized, identified as Mohammad Rafi of Sopore & Kaiser Ashraf of Pulwama. Slain Rafi was earlier booked under PSA twice.
Both the killed militants were involved in several terror crime cases. As per input they were planning to attack civilians in Sopore area, ADGP said.
Meanwhile Kashmir Zone Police quoting ADGP Vijay Kumar tweeted, “Killed JeM terrorists were categorised &identified as MohdRafi of Sopore & KaiserAshraf of Pulwama. Terrorist Rafi was earlier booked underPSA twice. Both were involved in several terror crime cases. As per input they were planning to attack civilians in Sopore area.”
