Afghan earthquake: 1,000 people killed, 1,500 injured

Srinagar, June 22: At least 1,000 people killed and 1,500 others injured as powerfull earthquake struck Eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, state-run news agency – Bakhtar News Agency reported.

The quake struck about 44 km (27 miles) from the southeastern city of Khost, near the border with Pakistan, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGC) said.

The quake was the deadliest in Afghanistan since 2002.

Woman stabs boyfriend for ‘looking at other women’

According to FOX news, a Florida woman is in jail after she allegedly used rabies needles to stab her boyfriend because he was apparently looking at other women.

Sandra Jimenez, 44, was charged with aggravated battery in connection with a Saturday incident at a home shared with her boyfriend, according to a Miami-Dade Police Department arrest affidavit seen by FOX 35 Orlando.

Officers responded to a hospital following a report of a man who was stabbed in the eye with a needle. The victim told police that Jimenez used their dogs’ rabies needles to pierce his right eyelid during an argument about him “looking at other women,” the affidavit read.

Jimenez allegedly jumped on her boyfriend of eight years while he was lying on the couch and stabbed him with the needles before leaving their home when she “realized what she had done.”

The victim called 911 and was rushed to a hospital, where he spoke with officers about the attack.

Police later found Jimenez sleeping in her car outside the home and arrested her, the affidavit said. Jimenez claimed that her boyfriend’s injuries were “self-inflicted” when she was questioned by police about the alleged attack.

She is in custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $7,500 bond, according to arrest records.

It has been reported that her eldest daughter, Victoria, who is 9 years old, is the only one who was conceived naturally. All the other 21 children were born through surrogacy. She became a mother of around 20 children in 2020 through surrogacy.

Christina is married to Galip Ozturk, who is 32 years older than her and is currently 58 years old. Earlier in an interview, they revealed that they plan to have 105 children. Galip is a millionaire and the owner of a hotel chain in Georgia. Earlier this year, he was sentenced to jail on charges of buying and possessing illegal drugs. Currently, the couple is welcoming their children into this world with the help of surrogacy, which will help Galip become a father even while being in jail.

In february this year, Christina even launched a book in which she shared her experience of being a mom to so many children. She revealed that ever since her husband was arrested, she had to take care of the children alone. She even talked about all the challenges she had to face as she had to take care of all the children without their father.

In an interview with a magazine, Christina Ozturk shared that between March 2020 and July 2021, she spent around Rs 1.4 crore on surrogacy. She further added that at one point, 16 midwives were working together in the house, and were given a salary of more than Rs 68 lakh.
