Srinagar, May 27 (ANH): Four local militants of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit including the killers of Artist Amreen bhat were killed in twin gunfights in Kashmir, officials said on Friday.

Two killers of Artist Amreen Bhat were killed in an encounter at Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the duo were identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat resident of Hafroo Chadoora and Farhan Habib resident of Hakripora Pulwama, IGP Kashmir said.
Quoting Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar, Kashmir Police Zone tweeted, “Both killed newly joined local terrorists identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat R/O Hafroo Chadoora Budgam & Farhan Habib R/O Hakripora Pulwama. They had killed TV artist on the instruction of LeT Cmdr Lateef. 01 AK 56 rifle, 4 magazines and a pistol recovered”.
Amreen Bhat was attacked by militants outside her house on Wednesday evening at Hushoora area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, in which her 10-year-old nephew sustained bullet injury in his arm as well.“She was brought dead to the hospital,” Medical Superintendent of Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital, Dr Kanwaljeet Singh told a local news gathering agency.
In another anti-militancy operation, two militants were killed in pre-dawn gunfight in soura area of Srinagar.
They were identified as Shakir Ahmad Waza and Afreen Aftab Malik both residents of Shopian were killed in the operation.
“SrinagarEncounterUpdate: The two killed terrorists of LeT have been identified as Shakir Ahmed Waza & Afreen Aftab Malik, both residents of Trenz Shopian & ‘C’ categorised. Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
It is pertinent to mention that ten militants including three from JeM & seven from LeT militants outfit killed in last three days in Kashmir valley.
