Even after LG’s assurance, KPs say won’t end sit-in till demands met

Budgam, May 23 (ANH): Even after J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha gave them personal assurance about fulfilling all their demands, the protesting Kashmiri Pandits at Sheikhpora, Budgam Monday said they won’t end their protest till all their demands are met.

Protesters told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that LG came here and he assured them that all their demands would be fulfilled. “Let’s see what happens. We will continue our sit-in protest till our demands are met,” they said.

Another protester said that time is witness that whatever demands were put forth by them took years. “We are not going to end our protest till we feel satisfied,” he said.

Five residential houses, furniture factory gutted in Baramulla

A massive fire broke out in a residential locality in Kanlibagh district Baramulla in which a furniture factory and five residential houses were gutted and property worth Crore of rupees was reduced to ashes on Sunday late evening.

Quoting reports news agency Kashmir Scroll said that a fire broke out at in a furniture factory of Farooq Ahmad Najar in a residential locality on Kanlibagh-Baba Reshi road, which spread to nearby residential houses in jiffy in which the factory and five residential houses were destroyed.

An official said that the fire was put under control by the joint efforts of fire tenders, local police and army. He said no loss of life or injury was reported in the mishap.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.

An employee of horticulture department was found dead in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district this evening.

Quoting sources news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that an employee of horticulture department identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather, son of Ab Khaliq Rather of Matihandoo was found dead in Lihnwan nursey in Anantnag district.
