Burglars loot eight shops in Kangan market

(Asian News Hub) – At least eight shops have been looted by burglars in Kangan market of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

An official told the news agency—KNO, that burglars have looted at least eight shops and have decamped with cash and other valuable items.

The incident has created resentment among the local population. “We are really concerned over such incidents and demand stern punishment for the culprits,” said a local adding that all such incidents often happen here.

Meanwhile, a police official said they are ascertaining the facts and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered while further investigation was going on.

He, however, said that details of property stolen has not been ascertained yet.

Srinagar police on Saturday said that they have arrested ten persons for trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere outside Jama Masjid in Nowhatta after Friday prayers.

They said that they will be booked under relevant sections of law.

Srinagar police on X informed, “10 Hooligans arrested for trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere outside Jamia Masjid Yesterday after friday prayers. They shall be booked under relevant section of law. Public is requested not to indulge in such acts failing which law will take its own course.”

Mason falls from rooftop of house in Bijbehera, dies

A mason died after he fell down from a rooftop of a house in Zirpora area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

An official told that Nazir Ahmad Ganai son of Abdul Salam Ganai of Zirpora was doing some work on the roof of the house when he slipped and fell down.

He said that he was immediately rushed to SDH Bijbehara, where he succumbed to injuries. KNO
