(Asian News Hub) – The final match of the U-19 T20 cricket tournament was played between Khanyar Knight Riders and Ganderbal Reds today. The cricket tournament was commenced on 21th February at SK Stadium Sonwar Srinagar.
On the closing ceremony, DIG CKR Shri Amit Kumar-IPS was Chief Guest and SSP Srinagar Dr. M.Haseeb Mughal-JKPS as a guest of honour. Zonal SsP of Srinagar city and other officers of Range Police headquarters viz, Srinagar & Ganderbal Districts attended the closing ceremony.

The final match was played at SK Cricket Stadium Sonwar Srinagar between Khanyar Knight Riders (KKR) and Ganderbal Reds in which KKR emerge as winners of the tournament by defeating Ganderbal Reds by 03 wickets in the final over of the match. Earlier, Ganderbal Reds won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 122/9 in 20 overs and set target of 123 for KKR to win. In reply in an interesting match, KKR chased the target in the final over of the match and won the title by 03 wickets.
Syed Mohsin of KKR was chosen as man of the match and Sirsheel Abass, Captain of KKR was declared as man of the series.
While speaking on the closing ceremony, DIG CKR Shri Amit Kumar-IPS said that J&K Police is organizing various sports events for youth and together we are working for peace and unity, which is our joint responsibility.

Speaking on the occasion, the DIG CKR congratulated the winning and runners-up teams. He appreciated the Organising Committee and other partner agencies, persons for the successful conduct of the mega event. He also thanked the media fraternity for covering the event with wide publicity.
He said the excitement and response shown by the players from 06 of Central Kashmir Range teams (02 each from Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal) in the event is appreciable. He said that J&K Police has always been on the forefront in providing platform to youth and guide them in following their goals by organizing different events.
The DIG CKR presented trophies, cash prizes to the winner and runner up teams. Besides, presented trophies, cash prizes to the man of the match and man of the series.

The event was organised by Range Police Headquarters Srinagar under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and witnessed an overwhelming response of the youth from Central Kashmir Range.
The two captains of the final match thanked the J&K Police for providing platform for them to show their talent and expressed their hope that such events will be organised in future also.
Two best teams from Range level tournament will now compete in the Zonal competition in the coming days.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone VK Birdi on Saturday said that the police will adopt stringent measures and act tough against those engaged in propagating a terror narrative and disturbing the peace on social media platforms.
After having chaired a security review meeting in Bandipora to evaluate and enhance security measures, the IGP, while addressing media personnel, stated that he was visiting every district to review professional readiness, covering overall work, including anti-terror operations and the crime front.

“Through the media, I want to convey that district magistrates have recently issued orders regarding the misuse of social media. Anyone found promoting anti-national or terrorist narratives, intentionally or unintentionally disrupting peace and public order on social media, will face stringent police action,” he said.
“Parents should advise their children to avoid the misuse of social media. If someone persists in such actions, we will take tough measures to maintain a peaceful environment in the valley and curb rumors in society,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police in a statement said that the security meeting attended by DIG NKR Baramulla Vivek Gupta, SSP Bandipora Lakshay Sharma, Addl. SP Bandipora Sandeep Bhat and other officers of the district.
IGP Kashmir while chairing the meeting stressed upon strengthening collaboration between different law enforcement agencies for seamless information sharing and joint operations besides, exploring innovative technologies to augment existing security infrastructure and response capabilities.
He stressed upon the officers to increase focus on human intelligence along with technical inputs to flush out the inimical elements besides exhorted upon to take stringent action against any person or organization supporting anti-national activities.

He also stressed upon the officers to keep a hawk’s eye on the situation and identify the people with nefarious designs who are hell bent to disturb the atmosphere of peace & tranquillity, he said.
Highlighting the approach to combat the drug menace, VK Birdi said that law enforcement agencies are committed to intensifying operations and adopting advanced techniques to dismantle drug networks.

IGP Kashmir directed for finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give relief to the general public and directed for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation, he said.
The IGP reiterated the significance of community participation in maintaining vigilance and urged citizens to remain vigilant while assuring them of continued efforts to enhance security measures. He briefed the officers to ensure the highest standards of public safety and urged them to work impartially and take stern action against any violation of the law.
Jammu and Kashmir Police took legal action on Saturday against nine people found engaging in the misuse of social media in Anantnag, Budgam and Ganderbal districts of Kashmir valley, police said here.
The action comes just days after the respective district magistrates of the Kashmir valley issued a warning of legal consequences for those involved in spreading rumors, anti-national narratives, and other information that could disrupt the peaceful environment in society.

The Anantnag Police informed that it initiates legal action against three persons identified as Salman Mushtaq Kuttay son of Mushtaq Ahmad Kuttay of Check Wangund Dooru, Rameez Ashraf Hadi son of Mohd Ashraf Hadi of Watnad Kokernag and Umer Farooq Ganie @ (Ghazi Sir) son of Farooq Ahmad Ganie of Ratherpora Khairbugh Srigufwara for uploading hatred videos on their social media platforms in which they made inflammatory and seditious statements.
“We urge the Public to be vigilant against such individuals who spread hatred content on social media. Anyone found engaging in such activities will be dealt strictly with in accordance with the Law,” it said.

Similarly, the Budgam Police said that “To uphold peace and order, Budgam Police has taken strict measures against individuals misusing social media platforms to spread rumours”.
It said that two troublemakers have been booked and presented before the Magistrate, with ongoing investigations into the matter. “Budgam Police encourages the public to stay vigilant and collaborate with law enforcement to apprehend any individuals engaging in disruptive activities and abusing social media, posing a threat to the community’s peace and tranquillity,” it said.
The Ganderbal Police also said that it initiated legal action against two individuals for uploading and sharing hateful content on social media platforms. “Waseem Mushtaq Malik S/o Mushtaq Ahmed Malik , resident of Safapora and Aadil Ahmed Rather S/o Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, resident of Nunner, Ganderbal found involved in spreading hateful content on social media. Under the recently issued order of the District Magistrate, legal action has been initiated against both of them,” it said.

“Ganderbal Police appeals to the general public of Ganderbal to remain vigilant about the misuse of social media. Any attempt to vitiate the environment and create issues of public order will be seen seriously and legal action will be taken,” it added.
Further, the Baramulla Police also said that it has initiated legal proceedings against an individual identified as Bilal Ahmad Wani son of Ali Mohd Wani resident of Wani Mohalla Baliharan Pattan, District Baramulla. “This action is in response to his uploading of hateful videos on social media platforms, containing inflammatory and seditious statements,” it said.
Meanwhile, the Awantipora Police also said that it initiates legal action against a person identified as Sheeraz Ahmed Beigh S/O Abdul Majeed Beigh R/o Beighpora ( Awantipora) for uploading inflammatory and instigating content on social media.

“In its message , Awantipora police once again urged the Public to be vigilant against such individuals who spread hate content on social media. Anyone found engaging in such activities will be dealt strictly in accordance with the law,” it said.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone VK Birdi, while addressing the media in Bandipora, appealed to parents to monitor their children’s use of social media and urged them to refrain from misuse. He stated, “Police will take stringent measures and legal action against those found promoting anti-national or terror narratives on social media, so parents should counsel their children to stay away from these activities.”
“Individuals misusing social media for terror narratives and disturbing peace in the region will be dealt with according to the law,” he said.
