Kokernag shivers at -7.8°C, coldest night in 22 years

Srinagar, Dec 31: Kokernag recorded its coldest December night after 22 years as temperatures dropped to minus 7.8 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees below normal for this time of the year.

“It was the coldest December night in Kokernag since December 30, 1998 when the minimum temperature had dropped to minus 10.0 degrees Celsius,” Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, said.

All-time low temperature in the month of December in Kokernag is minus 10.5 degree Celsius recorded on 19 & 31 December, 1986.
